Lindley Wedding
When it comes to wedding photography, we want to convey an emotion within your wedding day by capturing the story and atmosphere from the day. We want to translate your message of love across for generations to come who will appreciate what the wedding was like, rather than peruse a series of pre-determined poses.
On the big day, we keep a low profile because you are the star; our clients peruse their images surprised by the moments that we capture. One bride remarked, "[we] truly love our wedding book! It was a very hard task to caputure all the love surrounding our big day but ByJRochelle did a fantastic job of it! "
ByJRochelle combines candid images of the day's events...
....with posed images that are inspired by the personalities of the couple.

Up a Tree Without a Camera
Have you ever found yourself up a tree, wishing a friend was there with you to snap a picture? Ummm maybe that's just me, TheJRochelle of ByJRochelle. ByJRochelle clients brave the elements to get the right shot and I think they have as much fun as I do...well I hope they do!
As a child I climbed trees with my cousins and I guess that started my arbor height obsessions. If you are a tree-hugger like me, schedule your ByJRochelle session up a tree and never be caught without a camera again!

Recently I had the pleasure of shooting a local English teacher [with camera]. It took him a couple of tries, but like Miley Cyrus sang, it "ain't about how fast I get there...it's the climb". Mr. Busby would promptly correct Miley's English of course, but either way he loads of fun and a natural.

The Goddess of Theatre
These characters are preparing for the role of their lifetime as they get ready to welcome a new leading lady! Bubbling with excitement the Jenkins toured a Houston area park holding hands, sharing love, and taking in the sights of the summer scene.
With enough sun to kiss her curves without baking her skin, Jessica wore a lovely teal baby doll dress; light enough to hug that beautiful bump but thin enough to keep her cool as we strolled through the park,
Their natural tresses and winning smiles were only trumped by their awesome personalities. Their baby girl will be one lucky kid.

Unity and Diversity in the Body
1 Corinthians 12:12,18-19 Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be?
As I sit @ Lakewood waiting for service to start, I'm so grateful that churches like Lakewood make room for the entire body. As a child I went to Windsor Village United Methodist church and they made the same provisions. If you are a believer, I want to encourage you to find a way to use your gifts to build God's kingdom. He blessed each of us with specific strengths and everything we do as believers is supposed to be for God's glory. If your church does not make room for your gift, it doesn't necessarily mean that you need to leave. You may need to talk to the leaders of the church and say I have the gift of dance, I believe that God is leading me to minister in this way can we talk about starting a praise team. Churches like people oftentimes get caught up in tradition; the leaders do what they have always done. Now verse 12 says the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. So your church cannot say they don't need you, because they do. I get to use my gift of media production to serve God and if you don't get to use your gifts at your church I want to encourage you to find out if there is a place for you. If a place hasn't been prepared for you, I want to encourage you to open your mouth and let them know that you are there!Well service has started!

Why Do I FGI? [Campaign]
David Peck said it best in a recent interview with ByJRochelle in collaboration with Jaxon E&P for The Fashion Group International of Houston Inc. (FGI) The earlier you start the earlier you get ahead. I guess you can say I got a late start because I didn't know about Fashion Group International when I was a student but I'm fortunate to know about it now!
"The earlier you start, the earlier you get ahead
and FGI really offers so many opportunities
to get ahead early."
This global non-profit organization seeks to help people in the apparel, accessory, beauty and home fashion industries become more effective in their careers. To achieve that goal, FGI provides insights on trends, access to business professionals, and a gateway to the influence fashion plays in the market place.
"There's a huge community [in Houston] that supports young designers."
-Chloe Dao
I want to help students and professionals get involved in FGI so I have partnered with Keith and Cherise Luter of Jaxon E&P to interview members of FGI Houston. So far, we have interviewed Stacey Swift, PR Manager at Neiman Marcus (Houston) Galleria, Chloe Dao of Dao by Chloe Dao, legendary Houston designer Kay King, and David Peck of David Peck Collections!
"If you are working in fashion or the beauty
industries and even in interior designs in Houston and you're not a member of FGI you're really missing getting to know your competition!"
-Kay King
Here is Stacey Swift's released video.

No One Wants You to be Someone Else
The first time that I dawned a stage came only in an attempt to help the youth ministry launch the drama team. Bernell Peltier stood in front of hundreds of teenagers and announced she needed actors; it didn't take long to realize that public speaking is in fact the number 1 fear of most people. I thought a drama team sounded like an excellent addition to the youth ministry so I slipped my hand up to get the ball rolling. So, from day one I stepped into the spotlight to glorify God. Years later, I'm still doing it.
Today I'm sitting in a brightly decorated room waiting for drama ministry meeting to commence. I serve on the Drama Team (Lakewood Players www.facebook.com/lakewoodplayers ) at Lakewood Church in Houston, TX. After all my years of theater I still learn valuable life lessons that improve me as an actor and as a person. Two of those lessons are: 1) Don't be afraid to go off script and, 2) Be yourself.
As an actress, I portray life; in life, there's no script. The funny thing is that initially what I liked about theater was the script; all I had to do was memorize my lines. But acting is about bringing those lines to life and sometimes you have to go a little off script to bring the character to life. Some of the best actors such as Denzel Washington and Robert Deniro used improv to tailor characters who have become icons.
One of our leaders, Jesse Adams, says "they picked you for the role because they liked you, not because they wanted you to be someone else". Acting isn't about pretending it's about playing a role and isn't that what we do everyday. Your job, your home life, your social life, and the like are all roles you play. In each of those roles, you are a different facet of you.
Well the team is rolling in so I'll bring this blog to a close. Remember, it's ok to go off script and be yourself!
